quick notes on ubuntu server and gnome desktop

finally got it working. Not extacly sure how ...

did stuff like

# apt-get install gnome-desktop-environmet
...
then later on 
# apt-get install xserver-xorg 

figured that out because ...

startx

would fail with /usr/bin/X not found.
So i got ubuntu to tell what to install by executing

# /usr/bin/X

and the error message said to install xerver-xorg ... kinda nice


then reboot ... looks awesome
